Just Another Morning Sunrise
You know it's good when the camera comes before coffee - lol! Each morning when I get up the first thing I do is head to back sliding glass to tell the Lord Good Morning and WOW...some days I just have to grab my camera and fast. I greatly enjoy watching the sun come up in our backyard and set in the front yard... but some days are just very special as I watch the Master painter draw upon His canvas in the sky. Brutal honest C&C welcome.

on March 20, 2007Thanks for all your comments everyone. I tried the crop as suggested earlier in the thumb view (loosing one tree on the left and cutting off some of the bottom) but the more I look at it the less I'm liking it. I think I've decided I like having all 3 trees... unbalenced, lifes different no matter how you look at it, it changes at every angle and turn... I don't know. Anyhow, I'm thinking pano instead. Will try that in the thumb view for a few days and see how it grows on me or not. Thanks again so much for all your feedback. Much, Much appriciated.

on March 20, 2007I agree with the idea that the foreground should be cropped a tad. The upper portion of this is wonderful though.
The "eye" rising once again to watch over us.

on March 20, 2007I was hoping someone might share their recommended crop area. I know it's kinda hard to see so small but how does the thumbnail crop (zoom) look? It moves the sunrise off center but otherwise I think I like it better somewhat. I guess I could go out and cut that one tree down for a re-shoot but hubby would kill me for sure. LOL! I normally upload the whole photo so as not to loose various print sizes if I ever want to vary &/or in case I wanna add the poetry bit :-) but that little zoom thing will be handy for rembering preferred crops.

on March 20, 2007I agree with the Kurt and esw on cropping a bit from the bottom - it doesn't seem to add much to the picture..I like the silhouettes tho; and I like your LPS pic too :) Good luck, glad you made it in time !

on March 20, 2007This is one where I tend to agree with some of Ginger's early criticism about too much shadows in many of my sunrise/sunset shots. Maybe a bit of cropping to reduce the bottom shadow area. Although it makes a very convenient place to place a few lines of some appropriate poetry :) I absolutely love the rest of it, especially the thin dark cloud bisecting the rising sun.

on March 20, 2007Cindy, I love the colors and silhouette. I think I would crop it a bit differently though. I would try to decrease the amount of dark foreground and crop about midway up to the horizon line. And would crop the left side between the trunks of the trees. This would leave two trees framing the sun each pointing inward, drawing the eye in.
