Say - how'd you get down there?
Same way you got up there - duh!
(A large view reveals the faces.)
I decided to play around with some water droplet photography to beat the winter blahs. Wow... This is so fun I'm hooked. Talk about making someone compulsive :-) Now I've gotta try out all kinds of liquids and such :) If anyone knows much about this I'd love to hear what you know... how to capture different typs of droplets, etc. This is yesterday's pad. I'll add a milk one for today later on. Thanks for looking & have a great day!

on January 5, 2007Thanks for the comments everyone. I've enabled the exif for the gallery... don't mind at all. Actually I thought I did have it enabled... that's strange... oh well. Lens's used: Nikon 105 VR with a Nikon 1.7 TC attached. The TC is used only so I can keep the 105 abit farther away from the water. I'll take a pic of the set-up next time but it's pretty simple. My studio is out in the shop and allthough I'd probably get better results out there with the softlights... I much prefered staying inside just playing around for this soooo... how about my kitchen Island, 2) SB-800's, 1 light stand to hold a zippy bag of water (used needle to make pin size hole), a carpenters square that was within handy reach to clamp to the light standa (haha - to lazy to go back to the shop for an extension arm), a clothspin to hold the bag to the square... various t-shirts, sweats or whatever material that sounded cool to use for a small background, lots of various kitchen dishes to catch falling water, oh and an old fireworks punk was used to pre-focus on and line the dripping water up precisely (pencils work nice when they reach across the dish but in the above picture I was using a 13x19 cassorole dish (size wasn't needed but clear glass was). Oh I allmost forgot I'd placed a blue gel filter on one of the SB-800's to try to light only the drops... as you can see that didn't work as expected because the whole scene went blue... oh still works for me. I may try to find some little mag lights to gel only the drops in a future pic... anyone tried this?
