"Meow - Hello Kitty"
I'm really liking the pink in these :) It's not quite what I'm shooting for yet but getting closer. It appears that my water drops are loosing water on the upper half... but even the short drops look that way so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm still trying to figure out proper placement of items I want to be reflected inside the water drops... any tips?

Sherstone: Funny I was just thinking the same thing today... only I think I'll leave the falling drops along for awhile and try photographing actual hanging drops till I get more reflection practice :)
Vandana: If I remember correctly this one was about 6-8 inches from the drips. The kitty face is actually about 9 inches from side to side, printed on a gift bag. So far I've varied the distance alot... I've learned the size of the object needs to be pretty huge in comparision to the drip &/or extremly close. Do you always place the object directly across from the lens? I'd like to have the object out of the frame... but reflected in the drop... I'm having a little success but this ones really tough to guess the angles, etc.

on January 6, 2007I have an idea.. not sure if it will help but... take some object, leaf, stick, eyedropper... something that you can hang a drop of water off of and put it where the splash droplet would be. then you can see were the image will be before the shot?
